Management Background

After completing his university degree in the late 70s, he went into Sales and Marketing and worked in the automotive, food and chemical industries. Clients included organizations as varied as Barclaycard, SAAB cars and MFI, the furniture retailer. His work here was recognised by several awards from the Direct Marketing Assocation.

Consultancy Work

He moved into management development consulting work in the early 1990s with the setting up of Whitehorn Consulting. University Involvement

To this day, he remains a Visiting Academic at the University of London and teaches management communication skills, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, at Royal Holloway and King’s College.

For JPMorgan Asset Management, he developed a ground-breaking 2 year graduate programme leading to a postgraduate Diploma. This concept was developed further in the mid 90s into a global in-company MBA programme, which ran for 5 years. Delegates were drawn from the global organisation and the course was delivered in locations as diverse as Hong Kong, Tokyo, Paris, Prague and New York.

During the late 90s, David also co-developed an award winning certificate programme for Recruitment Consultants working for Reed Employment.

Innovative courses
